Teaching and support assistants play an extremely important role in the teaching and learning of children with special needs.

The value that a class team brings to teaching and learning, will be extremely influenced by the ways in which a teacher deploys teaching assistants. We will explore the research and findings in this course.

I know myself when I first started my teaching career, the most challenging part of the job was leading a team.

Leading a team is a skill in itself.

After this course you will have practical ideas to implement into your own leadership style, in order to support the practice, preparedness and deployment of Teaching Assistants.

“In the time that Steph has been working with my school, I have been able to see a sustained improvement in the provision offered. This has been the case in the growing knowledge and skills of the staff she has worked alongside, the physical environment provided for pupils with ASD and the outcomes for those pupils"
